Petting Zoo

One of the things I loved about Andrew's school was all of the farm animals that visited his class. There was lambs, goats, chicks, parakeets and rabbits. His teacher, Ms. Barbara, grew up on a farm and she brought some of these animals brand new. The chicks came as eggs, hatched and some struggled and didn't make it and one has special needs. What a great way to teach kids about life and the complexities. Once she brought a baby goat, Andrew held it and it peed on him. You would think this would make Andrew question this whole experience, but it is funny to him. I think he thinks he was pretty lucky it happened to him, he got to wear home the emergency clothes (which he thought were the coolest) and he had bragging rights. Below are pictures of the kids with animals from Ms. Babara's childhood farm. At Andrew's preschool graduation they had this great petting zoo. Gracie is really my animal lover and I could not get her to look at a picture or leave, what a little lovie.

A piggie

Same piggie

A donkey

Two goats, and a lambie. Gracie now wants a "lambie" for a pet.
